Got something brand new for you guys. Yeah, you can send me messages about my lack of posting but WoD came out and I’ve been chest deep into getting ready for that. Gonna TRY to post, but I am as easily distracted by the internet as the rest of you.
But, that’s not why we’re here right now. Finally after so long, Purity Ring put out a new song. Push Pull. Here you go. No jump for today. See you next time.
I bet you thought that I was only going to be doing show reviews. Nah. I haven’t forgotten you and my bag is packed full of new music as well.
Some of you don’t know who 20syl is. And you were okay with that. That was wrong of you and your life is much less fufilled than it can be. French, with sass and a great electronic soul. 20syl has been blazing up my playlists for a few months now. You know the rules, I’m not just gonna prattle about music. Music speaks for itself, and 20syl almost soulful tracks can speak for both of us.
Big ass image, new ass track. I’m bringing you something that is so new that the ink hasn’t even set yet. Drake just dropped a new track from his personal label October’s Very Own as a shout out to Johnny Football. And, I got to admit. This shit is bangin. Fresh flow, throwback beat, smooth track. Don’t take my word for it, pop the music into your ear and just enjoy the track.
I’m here once again to pour some sweet music into you ears. This afternoon, we’re here to remind you about about the fact that there are many other fish in the sea.
No, not really. While I’m quite sure there are really tons of fish in the sea, the likelihood that you’ll find one with the perfect cogs for your machine is slim. Actually, given that there are like 7 and a half billion people in this world, there’s probably a greater chance that you’ll find someone who is much more perfect for you elsewhere than in your current living location. But, that’s not the point. The point is that I needed a way to ease into this amazing remix.
Wet – Don’t Wanna Be Your Girl (Branchez Remix); (Brought to you by Mr. Suicide Sheep)
Oh yeah, side note: Did any of you notice how really close 13 was with his predictions? Fucking beastly.
And, I realized that I typoed, but I’m leaving it for the future. I am human.
Ok folks, I’ve got something relatively new for you guys. Here’s something new from my current artist obsession. Spark Master Tape: Proprecia. It’s a banger, great for bumping loud in the headphones or car. One of the reasons that I love listening to most of Spark’s music is that it reminds me of old rap. It’s loud and it just rolls in the ride. It’s great music. But, you don’t have to take my word for it:
I’m quite sure that you can totally guess what’s about to happen. I’m about to toss up a new Soundtrack of Our Lives post. Not going to say much but, here’s what’s my life has been like for the past few weeks. It’s coming along swimmingly. I suppose. Yeah, something like that. I’m going to be doing an album review sometime next week. Maybe, if I can finish. If not, then it will def be the next week. Also, a new surprise sometime soon too.
Here you go: What you Know by Two Door Cinema Club
Day 4 Ya’ll! Probably going to have to be 1 a day from here on out. But, Maybe that’s how it is supposed to be. I think you’ll be noticing a bit of a pattern coming up in the next few weeks. Enjoy it, that’s going to be my goal for the future. Here’s what was my favorite Ratatat song for a great amount of time.
So, I’m finally finished with my awesome vacation. I spent the trip down to Houston on a bus surrounded by people I don’t know and also people who I didn’t really understand. Although, I had a great time on the trip; you can learn so much when you don’t know anything. That said, I severely got backed up on pretty much everything. So, for a few posts at least, we’re going to be DOUBLE POSTS! Probably short ones, but doubles none the less. That said, after the jump, let’s dust off the soundtrack get back to work: Continue reading →
Today’s song is long in a sense. It’s longer than what I played yesterday, both in time and in longevity. There’s no words but that’s not the most important part of this classic. Yesterday, I spent pretty much the entire day watching Ken Burns: Civil War. Oh what a Glorious Documentary that is. So much joy, pain, sadness, joy, and despair. A great war. Wonderful conflict. And absolutely needed for the current state to exist. A house divided and all that jazz. But, all about the music after the break.
Not really a dossier page but more of a “shoot the shit” page for today. Going to talk today about ways to find new music. School’s back in session so there isn’t as much time to just chill and surf youtube or Spotify your reality. Not many people really understand the impact that music has on your everyday life. Jingles, jangles, the tunes on the radio, and the even the sound of crickets chirping. So much music out there. I’m going to try to get you just a taste of the sound I heard yesterday, today. Every day I can. After all, It’s the soundtrack to your life, I’d love to influence it with a sample of mine. More after the break…
